Growing Pains

I have a bad track record with plants. I've killed a cactus before! Since moving into our new house, I've tried various gardening attempts. I'm getting a tiny bit better with each try. That has to count for something, right?

I spent this weekend starting a few seeds for my vegetable garden. Planning to plant tomatoes, hot peppers, sweet peppers, onions, kale, cabbage, and watermelon. If there is spaced in my little raised garden bed, I'll add in some carrots and spinach. 

I bought a variety seed pack from a seller on EBay. I figured this will help me see what grows well here and what doesn't. I followed the recommendations of my more garden savvy friends about when to start the seeds inside. You can also use a farmer's almanac or search google to find the planting times for your zone.

Hi! I'm Sumati. I figured that I'd take a stab at this blog thing and give it a whirl. I hope to post projects that I'm doing around the house, document my pathetic attempt at gardening, and post about my life as a little vintage loving, MCM obsessed, half-Indian girl living in the south.
